Aims and objectives

In the power of the Holy Spirit, the church works to achieve the following agendas, and calls on everyone to join in their realization.

Our founder

Primate Gabriel Oladunni (JP, DD)

Primate Gabriel Oladunni was born on 17 November 1938 at Okorun Street, Ikare Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria. He lost both parents by the age of seven, and was raised by his mother’s younger sister. Unable to obtain formal education, he became an apprentice mechanic at age 13, an apprenticeship that lasted nine years marked by great hardship.

He left Ikare Akoko for Lagos in December 1960 in search of work, and was later employed as a driver. Through a series of visions and a divine encounter at Tinubu Square, he was led into ministry by Prophetess Marian Adeleye, who cared for him for 46 days. He went on to preach boldly across Lagos and more than 120 towns, despite having no formal education — reading only from the Epistle of Paul to the Hebrews, which he said he was taught to read through divine intervention.

He established New Temple Church in June 1962 at 5 Banire Street, Olorunsogo, Mushin, Lagos, growing it into branches across Nigeria and overseas. He made more than sixteen pilgrimages to Jerusalem beginning in 1976, served as Head of Ondo State Cherubim & Seraphim Churches, and was honoured as representing the first Prophet of God in Black Africa on behalf of St. Moses Orimolade Tunolase. He also received an award of Doctor of Divinity.

He passed unto glory on Wednesday, 18 February 1998, and was buried on 16 May 1998 at Ugbe Akoko, Ondo State. A remembrance thanksgiving service is held every May in his honour.
